Microsoft announce House Party lineup and dates

Microsoft have just announced the lineup to their now annual House Party promotion; which seems to have come about when Microsoft realised that they make a ton of money during the Summer of Arcade. This years promotion starts off on the fifteenth of February with Alan Wake’s American Nightmare – a small sequel that continues on Alan’s story using a grindhouse aesthetic instead of the Twin Peaks “inspired” look of the original. One week later and it’s the turn of action-survival game I Am Alive which has been in development for years now. Then comes arena based multiplayer shooter Nexuiz which was originally an open source, community owned game based on the gameplay and engine of the original Quake. It’s now running on the Crytek 2 engine and doesn’t appear to have retained many of it’s roots.

The promotion is rounded out with Warp which is a charming looking stealth puzzler that casts you as an alien attempting to escape from a research laboratory. No prices have been announced yet but I imagine that most if not all of the games will come in at the 1,200 Microsoft Point price bracket. The promotion will also be running on Windows phones and will offer BulletAsylum, Chickens Can’t Fly, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Splinter Cell Conviction and Toy Soldiers: Boot Camp.
