YoutubeAll of that viral business Capcom have been up to lately is definitely for Resident Evil 6, one of several Resident Evil titles currently in development. The game will come out sometime this November and will allow you to play as both Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield. The game is apparently going to be the most ambitious in the series so far and will see the two heroes making their way accross the globe including sections set in China, something that had been rumoured about the game for several months now. IGN managed to snag an image of the game’s cover and it reveals that it will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 for definite.
Leon meeting a sticky end in Resident Evil 4
Chris and Leon’s stories will be completely separate but will occasionally overlap which sounds similar to the way things worked in Resident Evil 2. One major thing that is not clear is whether you will be fighting traditional shuffling zombies or the more agile Ganados from Resident Evil 4 and 5. The viral marketing campaign for the game implies that some survivors are left and generally the Ganados infected areas we have seen are always fully tuned into the cult/parasite so perhaps the plot deals with an outbreak of another nasty Umbrella concoction gone global.
Resident evil 1,2 and 3 were amazing. Scary as hell sometimes. Then they started going downhill with 4 and 5

Downhill with Resident Evil 4? That game created a genre that has been built upon really successfully. It was different and maybe not what fans of the series wanted but it was an excellent and ultra-important game. Also: “What are ya buying?”
Five was bad though.
I kinda meant the horror element. Resi evil used to own the horror genre. But they decided to ditch the market they dominated. and now it looks like there trying to compete with call of duty and gears of war,action wise
Resi 4 was good. but the originals in my opinion were the only true resident evils. oh and if you want a laugh and a migraene. play resi 5 in splitscreen
I dunno. Resident Evil wasn’t all that scary, it was just jump scares and it’s poxy writing didn’t really help either. It was revolutionary at first but after the first one just dissapeared further and further up it’s own asshole narratively speaking. All the while Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 were completely nailing psychological horror which is always more effective. On the PC it was even more heavily outclassed, especially in terms of writing.
I could just never be scared in a world that contained someone like Wesker or cross-dressing twins in the Antarctic. I’d much prefer they couch those kinds of elements in some kind of whacky action game than try to be a ghost train with a shitty plot. That said Resident Evil 5 sucks ass and is racist as hell which isn’t the right direction either.
