Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection coming to download services.

If the excellent new Mortal Kombat game has gotten you all nostalgic then this announcement should get you excited. Warner Brothers have just announced the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, which brings the first three games together into an arcade perfect collection for XBLA, PSN and PC. That means that you will be able to play Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal 3 from the same package, something that hasn’t been possible before. MK2 and UMK3 had been available on XBLA and PSN but were removed once former publisher Midway folded in late 2008.

MK supremo Ed Boon is happy about the project saying that “we are very excited to finally have the first three Mortal Kombat games available in one download package for long-time and new fans to play”. The package will be developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with Netherealm Studios. It will cost 800 Microsoft points or €9.99 on the PSN and PC, not too bad for three classic games, definitely worth the curiosity value if you haven’t had the chance to play them before. It will be coming out later on this Summer.
