Killzone 3 multiplayer going free to play

The multiplayer elements of the past two Killzone titles really have been some of the best that I think are currently available. They mix the compulsive levelling and upgrade system from Call of Duty with large-scale combat really well. Not to mention the rolling game mode that ensures you are never just stuck playing team deathmatch because it’s at the [...]

Medal of Honor: Warfighter announced

E.A. have announced that the most recent Medal of Honor is to receive a direct sequel which will be called Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The game will follow the same gang of beardy “Tier One Operators” from the original game. It has not been announced whether they will again be inserted into a real world situation or if E.A. will [...]

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs may arrive by Halloween

The developers of Amensia: Dark Descent have confirmed in an excellent interview with Joystiq that they will be producing a game set in the same universe called Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs that should hopefully launch by Halloween on the PC. The really interesting part is that thechineseroom will be taking the development reigns. The studio are fresh of the [...]

Mass Effect 3 DLC causes fan anger online

If you have taken even a cursory glance at your favourite internet haunts this morning you will probably have noticed that the topic of the “From Ashes” Mass Effect 3 DLC is coming up quite a bit. The main accusation flying about the extra squad member is that Bioware held back content from the game to sell on launch day [...]

PS Vita launches today

It’s Vita launch day in Europe and America and the moment of truth for the handheld which has so far failed to impress in its native Japan. It boasts an impressive array of launch titles that seem to be skewing towards franchises that are popular in the West like Uncharted, Wipeout, Motorstorm, FIFA and Rayman. An Assassin’s Creed, Call of [...]

Borderlands 2 trailer does my job for me.

Most game trailers these day are CG taken from the games story or pieces of gameplay that don’t really offer you an idea of what to expect from the game. Gearbox appear to have noticed this and have made their new Borderlands 2 trailer a bullet point list of new features interspersed with dubstep and shooting. While the first game [...]

Embattled retailer Game have finally admitted that they are unable to stock all new games. After a few weeks of speculation that the chain would not be able to secure credit insurance anymore, Game have said that they are not currently able to stock Tekken: 3D Prime Edition and all of Ubisoft’s Vita launch title. Game has said that they [...]

Mass Effect 3 DLC briefly leaks onto Xbox marketplace

Egg on face time for someone. The Mass Effect 3 DLC that we alreadythought was called “From Dust” was available for a short time on the Xbox Marketplace earlier on tonigh under the new moniker “From Ashes”.  It was going for 800 points but unfortunately showed a picture of something about the DLC that was pretty spoiler-ish. DO NOT SEEK [...]

As Bioware defend their employee, sexism within the community appears once more

In the past few days an extremely depressing  but, unfortunately common, trend has reared it’s head once again online. Jennifer Hepler, who is a writer for Bioware, has recently become the target for absolutely horrible commentary online. The comments commonly targeted Hepler’s weight and talent as a writer but the prevailing theme amongst these voices were against her gender. It [...]

Spec Ops: The Line finally gets dated

Nothing says “quality narrative that raises difficult questions and is based on Heart of Darkness” more than multiplayer pre-order bonuses! Especially when you announce the date your often delayed game is coming out on. This is precisely what 2k have done by revealing that Spec-Ops: The Line will be coming out on the twenty-ninth of June. That puts the game [...]
